Pastor Matt

Matt Higgs is the Music and Discipleship Pastor at Sunset Avenue Church of God in Asheboro, North Carolina. He has led worship in numerous venues across the United States, Cuba, and Trinidad and Tobago throughout his career. Under his leadership, Declare Worship Conference was established to cross denominational lines for the common purpose of declaring the Gospel of Jesus through music. He also has written and produced original music alongside multiple generations at Sunset Avenue COG. Matt serves as Chairman for the Western North Carolina Church of God Music Committee. Outside of the areas of music and worship ministry, Matt is passionate about discipleship and young adult ministry. He is married to his wife, Gayle, whom he met attending Lee University where they both majored in Christian Education. They have two children, Mathias and Grady.
